What nutrients are in Cacao?

Raw ceremonial cacao is an amazing source of vitamins A, C, D, and B-Complex vitamins.

It is also high in iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, zinc and a fair amount of selenium.

Cacao is the richest source of theobromine, and one of the richest sources of antioxidants, which helps protect the body from free radicals.

Free radicals are unstable chemicals that damage cell membranes and attack healthy cells which can lead to disease and damage of the body.

Raw cacao has an impressive ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) value of over 55,000, which is 4 times that of goji berries.

Ceremonial cacao has a long and rich history, dating back to over 4,000 years ago. Various tribal cultures, including the ancient Aztecs, are known to have used this raw cacao as a stimulant, mood-lifter and general source of nutrition. Cacao beans were even used as currency in Central America many centuries ago.

What is the difference between cacao and cocoa?

People often confuse cacao with cocoa as they both come from the Coco Bean. The difference is that cocoa is usually highly processed and heated to the point where it loses a lot of its health benefits.

Cacao is fermented and raw. Ceremonial cacao is cacao in it purest form, with minimal processing in order to preserve its incredible benefits.

How do I consume Cacao?
